New Local Authority Partnership to Support Young People Into Employment

Group Horizon and partners Middlesbrough Council are pleased to be offering local residents aged 16-18 the opportunity to gain skills and experience to improve their chances of gaining sustainable employment.

Route-way to Construction and Renewable Skills is a six week course which sees individuals not only gain industry recognised qualifications such as City & Guilds 6218 and CSCS card but also a wealth of hands-on, practical experience that employers desire.

The partnership highlights the Council’s commitment to support local people into local jobs. By training individuals in skills that are in-demand within the region the Council and Group Horizon hope to encourage further economic growth and in turn increased employment opportunities.

Those on the course learn skills within painting & decorating and joinery as well as spending two weeks focusing on renewable technologies such as Solar PV.

Group Horizon, a national training provider, run a suite of highly successful skills programmes within the Teesside area supporting individuals back into employment and have taken this expertise to benefit young people within the region.
